Oakland University was founded in the liberal arts and has made a commitment that all students will benefit from a broad liberal arts education.

The College of 艺术与科学 is the core of liberal arts at Oakland University. The College provides the curriculum for the liberal arts that all students enjoy, whether they major in one of the college’s 142 degree programs, its School of Music, 戏剧和舞蹈, or in one of the University’s professional schools.
