Professional Licensure and Certification Program Disclosures
Does this program meet requirements for licensure or certification in my state?
Oakland University makes every effort to ensure licensure information is current; however, licensure regulations change frequently. Please see the table below for program licensure or certification information. If you live outside Michigan and are considering enrolling in a program that leads to a professional license or certification, we highly encourage you to contact the appropriate state licensing agency in your state or the state in which you intend to work to seek the most up-to-date information about state licensure or certification requirements.
If the program does not satisfy licensure or certification requirements or there is no information available to determine the program satisfies licensure or certification requirements where a prospective student is located, the prospective student will not be enrolled in the program, unless the student attests, they intend to seek employment in a state where it has been determined the program satisfies the licensure or certification requirements. For more information, please contact the Academic Compliance Director.
Potential changes to requirements
Licensure and certification information is reviewed and updated on this site regularly. Students who plan to pursue licensure or certification outside of Michigan should be aware that state licensure or certification requirements are subject to changes. While a program may originally meet the educational requirements for licensure, changes in requirements could impact the program's ability to meet any new educational requirements. Students should always check with their state licensure board to confirm licensure or certification requirements.
Relocating during the course of a program
Prospective and current students should keep in mind that licensing or certification requirements vary by state and that relocating during the course of a program to another state could impact whether that student can continue in the program, meet the eligibility requirements of that state, and/or receive financial aid funding. If students are considering relocating, they should contact their degree program to check for licensure and certification eligibility requirements.
